Born 1989
Jacquelyn (b. 1989, Richmond B.C.) grew up on the south-western coast of B.C. in Steveston&Tsawassen before her family relocted to Squamish for the majority of her gradeschool. She was born to two artist parents who provided an enriching environment for creativity. She was regularly voted, “most artistic,” in elementary and highschool. She then lived in and attended post-secondary school in the interior of B.C. for several years where she also met her husband. She lived in Edmonton, Alberta for a portion of her post-secondary education. Fine art practice inevitably wove itself into her post-secondary coursework while attending UBC Okanagan in 2011, with a reflection of her gendered experiences in pageantry.
She moved to Salt Spring Island in 2020 where she continues to expand her art practice and community connections with other artists.
More formally. Jacquelyn works part time as a licensed occupational therapist in B.C. She holds a Master’s of Science degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in sociology.
Less formally. Jacquelyn spends most of her spare time chasing around her two young sons, hiking with her husband or friends, beach combing, practicing yoga, and travelling.
Jacquelyn’s ethnicity. Mixed Canadian First Nations (Salish) and European (English, Latvian, Polish, Scottish).
